The ECM systems are sourced and customized and they are not really designed by automobile manufacturers. Only a handful of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) make ECM systems for cars. Each brand and type must be customized according to the specifications of the automotive manufacturer. There should be proper configuration of the ECM system so that the car can perform well, and the engine specs and other factors must be considered.
